
Kim Bixenstine
Kim Bixenstine is privileged to serve as CSU|LAW Leader-in-Residence for Health Law & Policy and Chair of the Health Law Advisory Council. Since 2019, Kim Bixenstine has served as a professional mediator and arbitrator with Bixenstine Resolutions, a firm she co-owns with her husband, Barton Bixenstine. Since January 2024 Kim has also served as a Shaker Heights City Council Member. Kim retired from University Hospitals in 2019, where she served as Chief Compliance Officer and, before that, as Vice President & Deputy General Counsel, in charge of claims, litigation and risk management. Before joining UH, Kim was Vice President and Chief Litigation Counsel for TRW, Inc. Prior to that, Kim was a partner in the Jones Day law firm. Kim is a graduate of Middlebury College and the University of Chicago Law School. Kim serves as President of the Board of Great Lakes Theater and as a member of the Judge4Yourself judicial candidate rating coalition. She previously served on the Boards of the Shaker Heights Development Corporation and Cleveland Rape Crisis Center. She has received numerous awards, such as the YWCA Women of Achievement Award, Medical Mutual/Smart Business Nonprofit Executive of the Year award, and the Crain’s Cleveland Business Outstanding In-house Counsel Award. She also enjoys participating in community theater.
