
Judge Christopher A. Boyko

Prior to becoming a Federal Judge, Judge Chris Boyko served on the Common Pleas bench for Cuyahoga County since his appointment by then Governor Voinovich in January, 1996. He won election in 1996 and re-election in 1998 and 2004. Before taking the Common Pleas bench, Judge Boyko served as Parma Municipal Court Judge, Parma Law Director, Chief Prosecutor and Assistant Prosecutor. He also maintained a general practice for 16 years. Consistently recognized by “Who’s Who in American Law” since 1992, Judge Boyko has lectured for the Federal Bureau of Investigation, National Judicial College, Ohio Judicial College, Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association, Federal Bar Association, and at numerous law and law enforcement related seminars. Judge Boyko has taught at two law schools in Ukraine and has taught law to Saudi Arabian law enforcement. On January 4, 2005, Judge Boyko was sworn in as a United States District Court Judge and took Senior Status in 2020. On May 14, 2010 Judge Boyko received a Master of Judicial Studies degree from the University of Nevada, Reno, via the National Judicial College. His thesis was published in the Cleveland State Law Review in 2009.
